Where the hell is Belize?? (Click here to find out)

Well, we took the plunge! With any luck by the end of 2008 our new place in Belize will be done. We're building in the new Reef Village development, just a mile or so north of San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye.

For now, here's a few shots of what the place will look like, what the community looks like, and where our place will be. Best of all... check out the view we will have! And make sure to come back from time to time - we'll be posting construction photos as we get them!

7/29/08 Construction Update

Here's an updated look at the place. No dramatic changes, but you can see a little more of the roof patio layout. Also, update to the layout plans showing modifications to the garage, storage area, addition of walk-in closet in master bedroom and closets added to both other bedrooms, and other minor enhancements.

7/10/08 Construction Update

WOW, look at this... it's starting to look like a house now! Only a month since the last update but you can see the place is really taking shape now. Word from the builder is that it may be done as soon as October. Stay tuned for more!

6/10/08 Construction Update

The recent tropical storm sent a lot of rain to Ambergris Caye, but fortunately our growing structure survived unscathed. Here's the most recent photo - you can see that the perimeter of the foundation is now in place. Many thanks to our buddy Mark who took time from his vacation to visit Reef Village to snap this photo!

4/17/08 Construction Update

Here they are, the first photos of our place under construction! Yippie!! It may not look like much now, just a bunch of concrete and rebar, but it won't be long before the rest of the foundation is poured.
